What is 4H?
4-H
is a nonprofit youth educational program administered through the UC
Cooperative Extension and is open to all youth aged 5 to 19. 4-H stands
for the four-fold development of youth: Head, Heart, Hands, and Health.
4-H provides youth with a variety of learning experiences that contribute to personal growth and development. Youth are encouraged to set their own goals and make their own plans and decisions. The program helps them to become self-reliant, responsible, and productive members of society. 4-H in Davis is not just animals. Projects offered through Golden Valley 4-H include photography, sewing, arts and crafts, hiking, fishing and others. All projects are run by parent volunteers within the program or other 4-H clubs. 4-H is a year long program with one monthly meeting. The project meetings happen throughout the month at the location the project leader chooses.
